Tim: Semi-Organized Ramblings

SO, This past weekend was crazy busy for me... I was really sad that I couldn't be at the St. Mark Confirmation (sniff sniff) but to get everything done with graduation and my girlfriend Amy moved out I could of done no less. We had glorious weather for her graduation though, well not glorious as much as the 8 day rain onslaught took a hiatus for the ceremony, but it was much prayed for and appreciated. Graduation was beautiful, and so was Amy.

Woo Hoo Caps game 7 tonight!!! Sorry that was random, but I think this blog is better with my random thoughts then without them. I'm not normally a Hockey fan, I usually save my excitement for the Skins but it is the offseason and other than Ryan Zimmerman's 30 game hit streak (he'll go for 31 this evening at 3PM - record is 56 for those curious) there's not too much to be excited about DC sports-wise.

I'm excited about the High School Workcamp Teen formation meeting Thursday and the Youth Bash on Saturday... I hope you all are excited about the upcoming YM events as I am...

Ok, that's it for this Post. Ta Ta for now, I plan to write later today!

Back so soon!?!

I bet you didn't expect me back so soon... I actually bet that you didn't even realize since this blog hasn't really recieved a whole lot of popularity with you teens yet. But yes, I said yet...

So after the crazy weekend that we had with the Friday night Free for all that very few of you showed up for because of my late notice (don't worry we'll do it again as soon as we can), The Car Wash which was crazy and awesome and the Youth Mass where we honored our Schweet Senior class, I'm ready to kick start this week with a blog post!!!

In keeping with the blog having the more up to the minute info about YM and also cause my brain works in this random way, Youth Ministry @ St. Mark now has "Marshmallow GUNS" we currently only have 7 but i'll probably make another 7 before they get used. For those who do not know what a Marshmallow gun is (which was me before the OLGC YM showed me)They are a series of small White PVC pipes and connectors and what you do is place a mini marshmallow in the pipe and then blow into your hand that is holding the side closest to you an "Phhhfffttt" the marshmallow shoots a good distance... They don't hurt anything, but I foresee very messy wars in the YM near future...

OH yeah, and there will be High school Social activities this summer, and we might just have to set up a course with Mallow guns.

Ok, I need to get back to Actual work... And Yes, i do have ACTUAL work. ;-)

So this is about 5 months later than I had hoped my next entry would be!

So I hope that all of you out there in the YM world are super excited about the upcoming weekend, between our Friday night Free-for-all @ OLGC and the Car Wash and the Youth Mass this is going to be an exciting weekend.

I know I said this before, but keep checking this blog because I'm going to keep posting in it on a regular basis this time... Don't believe me? Well keep checking back, it might not be long posts, but maybe just interesting tid bits from time to time....

This Weekend we will honor our Seniors after youth mass, and... You guessed it, there will be cake! If you didn't read this ahead of time you'd never know. I'll write again in a bit.

Angie: Thanks to our Adults...

Hey everyone,
So... on Tuesday night, all the adult volunteers got together for the Youth Ministry Appreciation and Awards Dinner, sponsored by the Diocese. St. Mark volunteers filled up a full table (plus two chairs we stole from another table). It was a fun night of laughter for the adults who you all know and love.

Ellen Schaad (3rd picture above) was honored as our Volunteer of the Year. Ellen's been helping with Girls' CLC for the past five years. Make sure you congratulate her when you see her next. :) Another CLC moderator, Eric McDade (4th picture above), was seen helping to "clean up" at the end of the appreciation dinner. Don't worry... those bottles are sparkling cider. :)

And if you get a chance, I hope you'll say "thank you" to all the adults who help with youth ministry activities here at St. Mark. We couldn't do anything without their help!!

Peace,

Angie

Angie: Thanksgiving Traditions...

Hey everyone!
Well, I'm afraid it's been too long since I've posted. Sorry about that. But, I just wanted to pop on and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a great week filled with lots of pumpkin pi... (get it... ha, ha!). :)

Also, does anyone have any interesting Thanksgiving traditions they'd like to share? Feel free to comment after this post. We especially want to hear from you if your family has a special Thanksgiving Day dance or if you always end the meal with a food fight or if you always go out for Chinese food on Turkey Day (I know one of you out there does that!). :) Let us know!!

And at this point, I'd share one of my family's Thanksgiving traditions, but unfortunately, the Pometto family is fairly normal when it comes to T-Day. If there is one thing that absolutely NEEDS to be on that Thanksgiving table, though, it would be... Black Olives. My family LOVES their black olives... and the dinner isn't quite complete until someone has put olives on all 5 of their fingers (sometimes 10). :) I guess that's not really normal, is it... hmmm... :)

Okay... Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! Hope to see you all next week!!

Peace,

Angie

Tim: WARNING workcamp '09 coming with a fury

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted... I don't have a particularly great excuse; but If pressed to give one I'd say buziness. I am really excited about the Workcamp meeting this Thursday @7PM!!! I hope to see a lot of returners, but also a lot of new faces. AS SUPER AWESOME as last year was @ Millcreek in Youngstown, OH. I am estatic about the Glider City Challenge camp this summer.

Above this post is a picture of Elmira,NY ... I know we are going to make a difference for this community. I'm still getting overwhelming response from the people of Youngstown, OH... Lots of people were able to keep their houses because of you. And you all should be proud of yourselves, I know I am. Anyways, I promise I won't wait so long before the next post.
In Christ,
Tim

Angie: Youth Rally...

Youth Rally 2008 was quite the day! Great food, great talks, great friends from all over the diocese, inflatables, pizza, ice cream, 3-2-1 Improv, Stellar Kart, Superchic (videos above), 2 other cool bands (I forget their names), Mass with da bish, adoration, confession, Renee Bondi, donuts with Heather, football, real fruit popsicles, "What is rock?"...

I'm sure there's more that I've forgotten. Suffice it to say, it was a jam-packed day and lots of fun!! For those of you who could go, what was your favorite part of the day? Did I forget anything in my list? Let me know... :)

Enjoy the pics and videos... there are more on facebook... :)
